Sunrise shadesI was up early this morning, reading my favorite blogs and looking at the work of my favorite photographers. Then I noticed this warm glow working its way across the blinds here in my home office. So, I grabbed the camera and my tripod and snapped a few pictures of the sun rising as seen through my shades.
Today dawned brutally cold. It's only 23 degrees out and the high is expected to be around 30. Fortunately, this bone-breaking, mind-numbing cold won't last long. By Monday, it's suppose to in the 60s. The only upside to the cold: it's clear and sunny out. As long as I can see the sun, I can handle the cold.

That's the thing about being a photographer.
Have you noticed now that you take photos regularly you regularly see things that are beautiful and interesting? What a spirit-enriching benefit.

This picture has a zen like quality, the slats, the color, the warmth of the sun creeping in. I love it.
great that you not only saw the light play and photographed it but that you posted it as well! It's great to be able to appreciate the simple things in life like the colour of a new day peeking through the blinds!
BTW..when you say 23 degree are you really talking above 0? and Degrees not F?...Couldn't figure out how to spell that word!! lol

Debi: It's so true. I find myself looking at everything now and asking myself what the potential picture is in what I'm looking at. It's really quite fun. And spirit-enriching is definitely the right description for it.
