His Name is Earl

Earl : A human rescued him from a puppy mill

This little guy was out for a walk with his human the other day. I grew up with dachshunds, so anytime I see one, I melt into a puddle of sentimental goo. Earl is this doxie's name and he was rescued by his human from a puppy mill in West Virginia that made national headlines last year. He's a cute thing, but very shy. This was about as close as I was able to get to him; he stuck very close to his human. Sweet little fella', though.

In case you missed it last year, here are a few stories about Earl and his brothers and sisters. It's so nice to see one of these dogs, as I'm sure have many others, go to good, loving homes.

Lucky Earl :)

Somebody brought their new shelter puppy to work today. After a stressful week with everyone ripping hair out and stabbing backs, we all came together for some puppy love this Friday afternoon. That little ball of fur made everything OK.

I just upgraded my computer, so I will visit your photography site more often. Yay! -ph

Ah, my daughter use to have a little Doxie like Earl. They are so affectionate and cuddly.

Oh, this is great to see. One of the San Gabriel Valley bloggers Altadenahiker is very involved in Boxer rescue. Between the cute boxers she's highlighted and this little guy I'm wishing I could have more than my two doggies and one cat!

Love this image. And the great links, too.

Maya: I know, right?!

B Squared: Totally! I'd have taken him in a New York minute, if I could have.

Pheebs: Hi! Woo hoo on your new 'puter! I think animals should be a core component in the work place. It's been proven that they reduce stress.

Cele: They are definitely a very affectionate dog. Loyal as anything, too.

Laurie: As I always say, there's a special place in hell for people who harm animals and small children, but those who rescue and love them are going straight to heaven.

As my neighbor told me about our skinny little mutt we named Max, "that dog has been overnamed!" This little guy might be overnamed but he's a lucky little pooch. Thanks for that nice story.

BTW, Jilly at Monte Carlo DP has two she recently rescued. It's a story that will make you weep!
