Flower Man
Continuing my 100 Strangers series, I saw this gentleman yesterday in the plaza in front of Barnes & Noble in Bethesda. It was a pretty chilly day. We were all bundled up, but he looked particularly cold sitting next to his cart of flowers.
Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping?

It's Christmas? I'm always out of the loop.
Lucy: Rumor has it, but I'd check CNN first, if I were you. Nothing worse than an unsubstantiated rumor.
I don't know since I haven't wrapped a darn thing. I might need more I just dont know......
I like the feel of this B&W! Almost done with this shopping...are we ever really done? I'm so looking forward to the 26th!
VJ: Well, you got my list, right? I mean, that's all that matters is that you got everything on mine, wrapped it, and shipped it off to all the people I need stuff to go to by Dec. 24th. Please advise. Sign me, Max the Dog.
Rob: Thanks! I like how this turned out, too. Personally, I can't wait for Jan. 5.
Hi d.c., that's a nice black and white...I always think I'm done with the shopping, and then I usually remember I'm not at the worst possible moment--haha..am trying not to let that happen this year...
Happy Holidays!
This is another excellent photo. Please don't think I'm being funny but you have been turning out some great photos recently.
I thought I'd finished but think Phoebe deserves a bit more! Then I've got to wrap it all!!
Hey B.C.! Thanks for the compliment. Happy Holidays to you and yours, too!
Marley: Thank you! My goal for 2009 is to improve my pictures. Glad this one reflects that effort early. Happy Christmas to you and Phoebe!
There's something very poignant in a picture of a flower seller in winter. Doing it in B&W, depriving the viewer of the colors of the flowers, makes me uncomfortable. All of which means you did a good job.
Brrrr, poor guy!
Brrrr. I don't know how those guys sit out there all year round!
Bob: I went back and forth on this one and finally decided, as you so articulately noted, that the B&W was a bit more disquieting than color. Glad you like this photo!
Maya: Brrrrr is right! At least it wasn't snowing.
Amanda: I don't either. The flower guys and the folks who own those food/t-shirt trailers amaze me. How they do it in the cold of winter, I don't know.
