Two Things Challenge: Cloud / Nine

Winter Sky : Bethesda, Maryland

This week's Two Things Challenge was Cloud / Nine. As I type this, I'm going through my photos today and listening to the incomparable Edith Piaf. Nothing puts me on cloud nine quite like a good batch of pictures and some good music. I have both this evening. For this challenge, I chose these two photos of clouds. The one at the top was taken early this afternoon in Bethesda, Maryland. The one below was taken in Fairfax, Virginia, at sunset this evening.

Today is also the first day of the winter solistice. Or, as Rob over at Dusty Lens would say, it's the beginning of spring as the days once again begin to lengthen. Too bad the warmth isn't going to immediately show up along with the daylight minutes. Guess you can't have everything, eh?

Sing it Edith! And I love the cloud shots. Just gorgeous. Merci pour les chansons francais. I have no idea if this is correct. I am too tired to translate. It might be close.

Maya: It was a beautiful day. At last. The three or four days preceding it has been gray and overcast and rainy.

VJ: Sounds good to me! (German is my second language. All the French I know could fit in a thimble.) Glad you liked these.

Rob: Isn't Edith great? I listened to her all evening. As for spring, I thought it was cold here. You win! And thanks for the shout-out. More shiny, sparkly objects! Yeah.

Oh, the clouds with the tree & lampost is just lovely, a perfect place for a stroll. & I never get tired of watching pink sunlit clouds - I like the treeline too, don't get much of a wood/forest around here even if we do have a lot of trees in PV.

PS - I completely forgot about the winter solstice. Did you ever listen to Winter's Solstice (I know - it's New Age but it was pretty & fresh when it came out)? I wore the LP out some 25 years ago & haven't thought about it much lately.

Tash: I'm glad you like these! I was getting desperate. LOL! I think I have Winter Solistice. Isn't that Mannheim Steamroller? Or Narada? I can never remember and may be confusing it with another album I have...
