Bakersfield Confidential
After meandering along Route 66, we got on I-40 and headed through Bakersfield where we were staying with a friend of mine. Heidi and I met 20 years ago when we were both missionaries in Austria. She and I were companions (roommates) for our first two months at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. Then, about seven months later, we were companions together in Vienna.
We enjoyed swapping stories and catching up on each other and our lives. We also enjoyed a lot of laughs about things we saw and did when we lived in Austria. It was great seeing her and her family and I'm glad we were able to stay with them for a night!

Nice stop over. I like the flower photos and the burgers and fries!
I have no basis of comparison for Heidi, but you look GREAT!
The imfamous In and Out Burger. hmmm. gosh nostalgic. What a lovely home.
Marley: It was fun to stop and stay in Bakersfield. If Heidi wasn't living there, I'd have avoided it completely, but it was fun to visit her in her little corner of paradise!
JA: Well, I can tell you Heidi looks great! Thanks for the compliment. I've lost about 20 lbs. (possibly more, but I haven't seen or stepped on a scale in over a month.)
Cele: In-n-Out Burger = yum! And yes, Heidi has a lovely home.
That dog cracked me up. I love how you got shots from his perspective!
Oh, I forgot to mention, you both look great! Of course, I took the photo, so you'd better. And, doesn't that mean that the copyright should have my name on it? hmmmm? ;-)
Maya: Marzipan was a total kick. Talk about small dog confidence! Thanks for snapping the photo of me and Heidi with my camera. I guess I really should change the copyright on that.
