Sugarfoots
This week's 100 Strangers series features Ms. Barbara El Wilson. I met Ms. Wilson the other day, because she's the owner of this red gate. I was walking by her house last week and, wanting to photograph it from inside the yard, I knocked on her door to ask permission to be on her property. We started chatting and she invited me to see her business.
Ms. Wilson is the owner and creator of Sugarfoots dolls, which she describes as "an old-fashioned doll with a fresh new look." The multi-cultural dolls are completely handcrafted and mimic the old-fashioned rag dolls of yesteryear with their hand embroidery and unique and bright outfits. The dolls come in cocoa, ginger, cinnamon, and sugar cream skin tones and in two sizes--25" and 15". If you're looking for a gift for a child, these are great! In fact, the next time I'm over at Ms. Wilson's, I'm picking one up.

Oh, I love meeting people in this way. My husband says, I'd talk to dirt if it talked back to me.
I think it's a good thing.
Somehow I always know that the brief descriptions you give of these folks are always right on! You have a gift for seeing people as they really are.... Maybe it's a result of all that good clean Utah living! ;)
I love being introduced to new people this way. I'm watching.
AE - I talk to the dirt all the time. I don't mean dirty talk either. One day, it will talk back.
God
PS - the word verification word was "boylater." Interesting.
Andrea: I would do the same thing! In fact, I've tried talking to dirt. One of two things happens: either it throws itself back in my face or it springs forth with beautiful blossoms of some kind of flora. I'm not sure what I say to get the results I do! But, yes, you're right: it is a good thing!
Brian: Thanks! I try to see the good in everyone I meet. I can be a little naive that way sometimes. As for good clean Utah living? I don't know about that. All that smog and stuff. Blech. ;-)
GIL: Isn't it fun to meet new people in unexpected ways? Come back next Wednesday and I'll be featuring a new stranger. Oh, and no dirty talk here! You can talk to dirt, though. You'll be in good company with me and Andrea! As for your word verification, yeah, interesting!
Great shot! I love this story. You are getting really good at capturing people's images and stories.
Maya: Thanks! Barbara had such an engaging personality, it was easy.
I love this Stranger photo. She has such a winning smile and I love the Sugarfoot dolls she has created. I even linked over to her site. Wow. Fun strangers you are meeting.
Debi: Doesn't she, though? I really enjoyed meeting Barbara and learning about Sugarfoots. And, I'm having fun-to-boot with 100 Strangers!
I enjoyed reading yyour post
