Traveling: Seattle in the Daylight

The Space Needle from Queen Anne Hill : Seattle, WA

Sunday morning, Maya graciously continued her tour guiding and took me up to Queen Anne Hill to capture iconic photos of the Space Needle.

Close up : Frank Gehry, Architect : Experience Music Project : Seattle, WA

We also went down to the Seattle Center and the Needle itself and enjoyed a little photo walking around that and the Experience Music Project (EMP) complex. Not long after that, I left and headed out toward the coast to catch some beach time before my flight back to D.C. the next day.

Some sculpture thingamijig at the EMP : Seattle, WA

All in all, I enjoyed Whidbey Island and Seattle. Meeting a fellow photo blogger was a lot of fun and I hope to have similar opportunities with others in the future! If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying a Mini-Wini and traveling to the cities where all of my favorite photo bloggers live. Now, if I could just find the right numbers, I'd be on my way.

As usual, this is a just a handful of the photos I took on Sunday. To see more, see the slideshow below. Remember, you can click on it and it will open in a larger format.

Tomorrow: Ocean Shores, a celebrity sighting, and heading home...

Hey, you're here! Any chance of meeting up with you and Maya before you head out?
Let me guess about the celeb sighting. . .hummm, what neighborhood were you in at the time? :-)

These are fabulous. If I were you I'd think about relocating to this fine land of photo ops!

Kim: I was actually in Seattle last weekend. But, I may be returning soon, so yes, hooking up with you and Maya is a very distinct possibility and one I would absolutely welcome! As for the celebrity sighting, I saw said celeb in the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport on the return leg to D.C.

VJ: I'm seriously considering it!

Tash: Thanks! It was my first time in Seattle and I really enjoyed it. I had a great tour guide, too, so that helped. A lot. Otherwise, you'd probably be looking at pictures of manhole covers or something. :-)

Re locate. This is your forte. That top shot is a smasher.

Nice selection of photos. I liked the way you framed the b+w shot of the Space Needle.

Wow, these are great! I like that first one done in B&W. Lends itself well to the gray day that it was.

HEY, the manhole covers are amazing here. Just sayin'... ;-)

Babooshka: Moving to Washington State would certainly give me lots and lots of new material.

CIB: Thanks! That sculpture was perfectly (purposefully?) placed for this.

Marley: Thank you. Guess I'm going to have to start stepping it up around here again. A trip to the new Capitol Visitor's Center may be in order to match my recent photos.

Maya: Thanks! It's a little darker than I'd like, but it was a rather dark day, wasn't it? As for the manhole covers, I'll make a point of looking down more often the next time I'm in Seattle!
