Dawn breaking, as taken through the sunroof of my Honda CR-V

The other morning, when I was out chasing down church ladies, I snapped this picture of the sun breaking through the morning clouds. This picture doesn't do justice to the breathtaking scene that unfolded before those few of us who were eastbound on Constitution Avenue early on the Sabbath. Suffice it to say (or is that, portray?), it was beautiful!
And just a note to everyone who has left comments here in the last few days and whose blogs I normally visit with zeal, I've been a little behind in responding and visiting. With the launch of my new business venture, I've been a little overwhelmed with last minute details, new client meetings, and projects. (In fact, as I write this at 4:15 a.m., I've just wrapped up an editing project for a client based in Europe. Darn those time differences!)
I'm hoping to catch up ASAP! I really enjoy this creative, diverse community and appreciate those of you who visit D.C. Confidential. Thank you!

My pleasure, ma'am. Always something to see. I am in awe of someone who can grab a shot like this through the sunroof! Glad your new business is off and running. I think I forgot to tell you I think the name of your new business is tres clever. :)
V
good luck on the new business venture. ditto to virginia's comment on the name....
good sky capture!
beautiful shot.
and I wish all goes well with your recently launched business venture :)
VJ: Well, picture me on Constitution Avenue in my car with my arm sticking out of my sunroof snapping pictures. That's what I was doing. I promise, though, that I only snapped pictures while sitting at red lights. No driving and snapping.
Kimy: Thanks!
Edwin: Thank you. It's always great when a beautiful scene results in a good photo. And as for business, I'm off to a good start. Here's hoping it stays that way!
Congratulations on your new business venture...I am behind as well on blog visiting as I have had out of town guests for a few weeks...amazing how that cuts into my blogging time.!I wish you well on your new business.
What a gorgeous sunrise. I'm to lazy to see things like this!
It's impossible to keep up with all the blogs. The problem is they're all so good.
I need to get me a sunroof. This is a pretty shot.
Utterly gorgeous! SUPER!
Neva: Thanks! It's amazing how the little things like work and guests can keep us from the fun, important stuff like blogging!
Marley: If I ever visit Cheltenham, I'm coming over to your place at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday and rousing you out of bed so you can see the sunrise! Worth every drop of sunshine, it is. ;-)
Petrea: You've hit the challenge square on the nose. Now if everyone would just stop producing such great blogs, I wouldn't have this problem! LOL!
Mary: Thanks!
Great photo...I plan on visiting DC someday.

Lovely! It's always so hard when you see these amazing views when driving. You seem to have a talent for shooting out your moving car!
Just too fantastic for words Janet! It looks great big too and you KNOW I love those trees!
Mary: D.C.'s a great city to visit! I think you'd enjoy it.
Maya: I know! I really need to just appreciate the views and keep driving. Or find safe ways to pull over and take pictures.
Lisa: Glad you like this one and its many trees!
Beutiful sky! Ironic we see these things on our way to work. Not to worry, family and work comes first. Congratulations on your new business venture!
Rob: In this case, the photography came first! Work? Bleh.
Woooow!!! so beautiful,how i wish i was there..ha..ha
Ubilepih: It was a beautiful morning! I'm glad I was up to see it.
That's a marvellous dramatic shot.
Babooshka: Thanks! Doesn't it look like at any second a booming voice is going to speak from the heavens and make some big pronouncement? Or not...
