Cute House

Robin's egg blue beauty

Washingtonians live in a variety of dwellings typical of an urban setting. Downtown, it's mostly rowhouses, apartments, and condominiums. As you move out from the central district, you continue to find some rowhouses and a few apartment buildings, but you also start to see more semi-detached rowhouses and single family dwellings. In Upper Northwest, most of the homes to the west of Rock Creek Park are single family. On the eastern side, it's a mix. In my neighborhood there are a few single family dwellings that are obviously loved and well-cared for. This one is my favorite. I love the robin's egg blue they painted it and every time I walk past it, I smile.

To see a couple more houses that are neighborhood beauties, visit Standing Room Only. And be sure to visit tomorrow. I'll be posting a picture of our current mayor's home.

I like the color too. Very cheerful. Can't wait to see your mayor's home. Our new mayor is probably having plans drawn up for a palace for himself and the Mrs. at the TAXPAYER"S expense!

A visual pleasing color. And well cared for, looks like a nice neighborhood.

VJ: Fortunately, our mayor bought his place before he was mayor. I think all we've paid for is security.

Rob: I love the color of this house! Mine house is a butter yellow, which is nice, but this blue makes me happy all over!

Diane: Thanks! I'll be by to check out your giveaway!

Oooh, I love that house! I'd like something similar, but smaller... :-)

Maya: Me, too! Me, too!

Although, I'll tell you, maintaining a place is hard work! I don't regret buying, but I do have days when I wish I could just call the landlord to come and fix whatever. Still, projects like the landscaping stuff I'm doing can be fun.

How goes your house search?

The search is going very slowly. I'm being very picky which, fortunately, I can be in this market. Still, I'm not seeing what I want in my price range...
