Holy Trinity

Three in one: winter branches on the tree in my backyard.

Sitting in my car in the driveway the other day, I looked up through my moonroof and noticed these three branches stretching pontifically toward the bright, blue sky. Having my camera handy, I snapped a picture. I have a similar picture I took years ago when I was living in Linz, Austria. The difference, though, was I shot what I called the Linz Trinity ('Linzerdreiheiligkeit') from the ground up with the Linzerdom--the city's cathedral--in the background. If I can find my pictures from that era in my life, I'll scan it in and post it one of these days.

I love this. It's hard to photograph nicely something that is very tall with out distorting it or missing either the top or the bottom! I imagone these trees set in front of a stormy back ground would look rather spooky. Here they look graceful and poetic.
Nice photo!

Amazing what your found in your trees, like maybe it is a sign of some sort. I live in the woods and must keep an eye out for such things.

Lisa: I agree. I think the advantage here was, I was sitting directly under these branches. When I looked straight up, this is exactly what they looked like.

Bobbie: I could use a few signs right now. Perhaps I'll go and sit in my car under this tree more often and see what messages it imparts...
