One of the places Virginia took us was the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, Alabama. The Grotto is a collection of miniature buildings created by a monk named Fr. Josef Zoettl. To learn more, click here.

Funny--one of my law school roommates married a guy from Cullman. When we met his family at the wedding, they were joking about being from LA--Lower Alabama. And his cousin from Arab (Ay-rab) hit on me. It was awesome.

JaneAnne: You always have the best people encounters! That is too, too funny.

VJ: You took some kick ass photos! I had to crop the heck out of this one to get it to be any good.

Marley: Thank you, sir!

Very nice detail shots. I think that was the only way to go in this place, otherwise it's just too overwhelming! You definitely got that cat's favorite expression!

Maya: Shooting the Grotto was HARD! I think, like many things that can be difficult to shoot, getting good shots of this place would require repeated visits. It was a cool collection of models, but not the best photography material, that's for sure!
