All the News...
Continuing with 100 Strangers, I was downtown today to meet my brother for an early lunch and then to reconnect with a former colleague from my days working at a recycling non-profit. While I was waiting, I took some pictures of a few sights and some of the people out and about. This woman, reading a newspaper outside 14 & K Restaurant and Lounge, intrigued me. Her name is Nell Minnow. I didn't talk to her for very long, but I did compliment her on her name. She said she likes it, too!

I like Nell's name and your portrait. You are so well on your way . Bravo.

Nice addition to your Strangers series. The feel of a newspaper is so special. Seattle just lost one of it's print papers. So sad. They seem to be going the way of the Dodo bird.
VJ: Thanks! This was such an easy shot, I almost feel like it doesn't count. And yet, it was a gracious shot, too, which I like.
Maya: Thank you! I love reading the newspaper when I have time. Otherwise, sadly, I generally read the paper online. Did the Seattle PI go to an online-only format or did the fold entirely?
I am so intrigued that you walk up to strangers and talk to them. I suppose the photo is an ice breaker, but really I am sort of envious. I will eavedrop and then butt into a conversation sometimes, which is just plain rude.i.e. Who owns that building... I know the answer. How do you get to the italian restaurant (which in Florence every one should know) I know the answer.
I guess that is like a blog, but I make my own "leave your comment" space

Cool photo and cool name!
very interesting series.
The easiest one's are always the best ones! That theory could apply to a variety of things in life, but I'll just leave it at that! :)
Cele: I'm intrigued by it, too. Although, as my sister says, I could make friends with a cactus. And I'm like you--I eavesdrop and offer unsolicited comments or suggestions. Sometimes it works. Most times, it doesn't.
Marley: Thank you! And yes, it's a cool name.
Julie: Thanks. It's a lot of fun.
Brian: I have no comment. :-)
I believe it is still available online, but I'm not sure.
The name Nell Minnow reminds me of the name Sal Mineo...

Aitch: I wonder if she gets that all the time?
Thanks for taking my picture!

Nell: It was such a pleasure taking your picture. Thank you for agreeing to let me post your photo! All the best.
