Uptown Auto Parts : Urban as Art

Nothing too exciting today. I just liked this sign outside a corner auto parts store on Georgia Avenue. That is all.

That's a neat sign. I can see why you photographed it.

I like it. It reminds me of something from 1950s/60s Las Vegas!

I like it too. The way you shot this photo it makes it larger than life, in your face.

Denise: Thanks! When you're in an urban setting, you work with what you've got. There. Now you know all my secrets about why I photograph some of the things I do!

Marley: Thank you! It is a little Vegas-y, isn't it?

Andrea: Thanks. I practically stood right under it, pointed the camera up, and released the shutter. It turned out better than I expected actually!

Interesting use of color in the sign. You dont see many quite like that.

I love these old signs. Great vantage point in this shot!

Brian: I think this business has been around for nigh unto 30 years or more. Hence the colors and design. It's one of the cooler signs on this end of Georgia.

Laurie: Thanks! I have a couple of older signs I've posted around my blog that have similarly good colors.
