Two Things Challenge: Partial / Whole

Whole : Ham and Pineapple on the left and on the right Pepperoni, Mushroom, and Black Olive

This week's Two Things Challenge was Partial / Whole. You'd think this one would be easy, but darned if I could find anything to shoot for this. So, in a fit of desperation, I went with last night's dinner: pizza. Hilariously, several other interpreters of this challenge chose another kind of pie--the one in the sky. Be sure to check out how others responded to this challenge, which calls to mind that great song of the 1950s, "That's Amore!" And now, I think I'm going to re-watch Moonstruck...

Partial: No fuss, no muss!

I'll have a piece of the pepperoni please. Thanks.
I don't have the challenge this week of course. Sorry.

Black and white pizza - what an original idea. Usually we think of reds, yellows and tans. It must have tasted pretty good in color.

Nice! Black and white pizza is so different than bright red pizza. These photos remind me of shots of 50's pizza parties. And the Dino song is a nice touch. I have Dean on my iPod and often put him into funky playlists.

It was interesting just how difficult this prompt was to find a good response to. I like the pizza interpretation. It did not occur to me that food is a perfect candidate.

I love it! Looks yummy, too! :)

VJ: I think there's still some leftover. And no worries about the challenge. If you post something later in the week, let me know and I'll add a link to your interpretation.

Bob: I know. Different, right? Originally, I was going to post these photos in color, but B&W was so much more interesting, because it's not what you expect for a picture of pizza. That said, it will go well with the interpretations others have contributed this week.

Kris: Dean Martin rocks! I love his voice. Interesting that these photos were evocative of the 50s for you. I hadn't seen it before, but I kind of see it now.

Julie: I thought this one would be a lot easier, too! Some challenges are odd that way. On the weeks I think they'll be excruciatingly hard, they turn out to be quite simple. Go figure?

Brian: It wasn't bad pizza for what it was. Definitely much better than Pizza Hut or Dominoes.

Mmmm...I'll have the ham and pineapple please! I like this interpretation of two things, better than all those moons! Lol!

Great post for this challenge.

I think pizza shops should offer black and white pizzas.

Black olives, fresh buffalo mozzarella, feta and coarse ground black pepper, black walnuts.

Marley: I'll trade you the rest of the ham and pineapple for your mad moon photographing skillz. Moon shots, which I am continually envious of, are one more reason I need to get a grown-up camera.

Andrea: Oh, I like your idea for a black and white pizza. Perhaps I'll run out to Trader Joe's today and get pizza dough. Hm....

That's a fun interpretation. I like that it's in black and white, too.

Chosha: Thanks! In color, it just looked like pizza. B&W just seemed more interesting somehow. Hey, I'm glad you've joined us in 2 Things!

MMM, pepperonoi! Love pepperoni pizza, so does our dog. I would never have thought to use B&W, love your creative idea here! Oh, and you can not have pizza without Dino singing That's Amore.

My favorite character in Moonstruck was the old father. He was perfect in those kitchen scenes.

Rob: Surprisingly, I think there's still a slice or two left. It's yours, if you want it! I love Moonstruck. Esp. the part where Cher slaps Nick Cage and tells him to "Snap out of it!" Sublime. And yes, the old man if fabulous!

Cute! I think I would have rather seen them in color though. But, then I might have wanted to eat them, so maybe not...

Maya: Thanks! Pizzas in B&W have no calories, doncha know? I was trying to do everyone a favor!
