Westbound
I took these the other day while traveling westbound on I-66. (For the record, it was rush hour and traffic was only moving at about 15 - 20 mph.) The trees in the median caught my eye with their beautiful fall colors.
Hope you enjoyed this drive-by photo shoot!*
*And now, I'm just waiting for Virginia, Maya, and my sister to schimpf me out. Just watch the comments. Here it comes! ;-)

Eek! Taking pictures while driving? Are you nuts?!
But the trees really are gorgeous! It's photos like these that make me wish we had autumn (but no winter please, thank you).
Nice capture. Nothing like big white billowy clouds against the autumn colors and blue sky. I also like the sun flashes in the trees.
Coooool.... and the photo is nice too. No really. It's beautiful. I've decided I love photos on black on blogs. Makes them so much nicer. Check out this cyberfriend of mine in South Africa who does black.

No...not South Africa. Australia. If she has a photo of a kangaroo you think......whaaaaaaa?
I like the glimpse of sky and color with the clouds. These are very pretty. it's nice to enjoy fall through your photos because our fall is all gone.
On the verge of dangerous but great results!
OK, we've talked about shootin and drivin!!! Go to "Time Out" young lady and don't come out till I tell you!
Hilda: Nuts is just one of the many things I am! :-)
Andrea: Thanks! I had a good mix of clouds and sunshine that day, that's for sure!
Lucy: Thank you! And thanks for the link to Lizzie's site. I'll check it out!
Prof: Thanks. And what's up with fall in Montana this year? It's like you guys jumped straight from summer into winter! Crazy!
Marley: Yeah, a bit dicey, for sure. But, as you point out, the results seem worth a little risk.
Virginia: Is there an emoticon for "hanging my head in shame"? When I come out of time out, can I have a cupcake?
oh all right but you have to eat one of the ones Davis iced. Oh my goodness, wish you could have seen them. :)
PS Have you learned you lesson? Hummm?
hey great shot(s)---ok kids don't try this at home...
VJ: Oh goodie! I'm sure Davis did a fabulous job icing the cupcakes! Besides, it's CAKE. Like I'm gonna complain?! I don't think so.
B.C.: Thanks for the disclaimer there! I really need to be more responsible and include that in my postings. (Or, better yet, I just need to stop driving and shooting and simply drive. Or shoot. Or something...)
Girl! You knew you were going to get it! :-P
But, now about those dangerously taken photos: I like that in all three there are so many green trees, then suddenly a tree that is full of color. Good eye! Fall must be just starting there. Here it is almost over. :-(
Maya: I know, I know. Every time I do this, all I think is, "Virginia and Maya are gonna have my hide!" And yet, I can't stop!!
We're about halfway through fall here. With so many deciduous varieties, we'll have color through the end of November and part of early December. Then, we'll descend into the mucky grays and browns of winter. We don't have a lot of coniferous trees here like you do in the PacNW, so there's very little green during the winter months and it can get pretty depressing. Hopefully, all of that will be compensated for by bright blue skies and sunshine and brisk, crisp temperatures. Our luck, though? It'll be overcast and snowy or sleety all winter. Blech.
(And could my comment BE any longer?!)
Fun to drive by photo shoot! Live view really helps this situation.
Rob: Fun, yes! Smart, probably not so much. Although, there are worse driving distractions. Like texting and driving while intoxicated. (Not that I'm trying to justify my behavior or anything. Yeah, right.)
