Sunrise in Red

Lone chair in the garden

On my walk the other morning, I came across this chair sitting in the garden of a small apartment complex on 8th and Peabody. I love the way the sun was hitting it and the contrast of red and green.

Red-tipped maple leaves in the early morning light

Prior to that, I encountered a touch of nature in the same colors. Too bad this week's Two Things Challenge isn't Red / Green. These would have been perfect for that!

OOohh, getting a little artsy on us this a.m. I am loving that red chair taking in the morning rays. Good one DC. YOu are the guru that can make that Two Things happen you know. I am still half done with East/West . Maybe I'll just do One Thing Challenge on Sunday.

I agree with V, nice arty shots. I really like how you captured the light in the chair photo. I wish i felt as inspired as you in the mornings. My brain doesn't get going until lunchtime!

Virginia: Artsy schmartsy. That's me! ;-) I've still got to get out and do East / West. Sometimes, I don't know what the hell I'm thinking when I pick the challenges. That said, though, I've gone back to the Suggestion Box and the next few weeks will be challenges that other people suggested!

Marley: I'm not a morning person either, but I do find when I am up that I never regret it. The early morning hours are some of the loveliest and most peaceful. You should give it a whirl sometime. I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised!

B.C. Thanks!

Fall is one of my favorite times and it's so nice to see such vibrant colors!

Prof: I can't decide which I like better out here: fall or spring. I go back and forth every season! One thing I do know, I love the explosions of color that go on from late September to mid-November. It's a different scene every day.

your chair photo leads to a few question; why is it there, who put it there, it's use? In the end, it is a simple red chair offset by the green lawn, brilliant!

Rob: Your questions are rhetorical, right? If not, the answers are: I don't know. I don't know. And, um, I don't know. But, like you, I thought it was simply brilliant as a chair on the lawn. Glad you like it! Next time I walk that way, I'll see if I can get better answers for you! ;-)

Nice shots! I love the color. I think I'd be doing much better with a red/green theme too. The East/West thing is stumping me.

virginia: You are not alone. I too have an idea for one part of East/West, but the other part I can't get to until Sunday and wouldn't be able to post it in time. Drat. I may to the One Thing Challenge with you!

Maya: I posted a little early last week at 2TC. I'll hold off until you've posted your entry. I like to include as many interpretations as possible.

I think we'll do a red/green theme one week. We should do it soon, though. Doing it around Christmas is just too obvious and unoriginal, don't you think?

And I still have to do my East/West photos. Actually, tonight's activities might play nicely into the theme. We'll see...

Glad you like this picture. It was a fun treasure to stumble upon in my walk.

Wonderful studies of the two colours combined. My favourite season is autumn/fall. The first one is particaurlly striking with not only the colour but the use of light.

I'd be taking my photos for "East" on Sunday, so wouldn't even be able to look through them and/or post until Monday evening at the earliest, so you might not want to wait that long!

Any kind of color challenges are great in my book!

Babooshka: Fall is a lovely time of year, isn't it? I love all the bright, vibrant colors. In a week or so, I'll be heading up to Middletown, MD, to take pictures of the fall foliage up that way, so be sure to come back and see those pictures.

Maya: Okay, I'll go forward with posting 2TC on Sunday and will add a link to your interpretation on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Oh yes, my questions were rhetorical. I like the mystery behind this photo.

Rob: I figured as much. Still, I'd like to go back and find out the story of the red chair in the garden... I may find answers for you yet!
