Study in Green

Landscape lighting :
Washington DC Mormon Temple : Kensington, Maryland

Just a few more random photos of no particular significance, except these are all a variation on a theme of green.

L: New growth on a maple tree.
R: Clover on the forest floor.

L: Backlit trees on the grounds of the Mormon Temple.
R: 15-second timed exposure of the Washington DC Mormon Temple.

Green is one of my favorite colors. So naturally I'll love this post. I really like how you worked with the light. The Mormon temple seems like an alien ship. I think you mentioned seeing the one here in San Diego, which I need to get a pic of at night.

Wonderful green images.

It ain't easy being green. Nor is it easy working with light. This is something lacking in the blogiverse, low light and artificial lighting shots.

Clever photos to capture the color green at night with artificial lighting. What a great idea, I may have to borrow this idea from you.

Andrea: I like green, too. I almost didn't post that one of the Mormon Temple, but it was so ethereal, I had to. As for the one in San Diego, I've only ever seen photos, but I've heard it's pretty spectacular.

Rob: Some days I have been luck with low light, timed exposures, and night settings than others. I'm not 100% sure why these turned out so green--probably the type of lighting?--but I'm pleased! As for my idea, borrow away!

Lovely collection. All of these would have been great for a Green Theme Day! I find green very calming, it's the colour in my bedroom.

Marley: You're so right about green's calming effects. And, not to sound cheesy, it's so life-affirming, too. That's what I like about being around green stuff: it makes me feel alive!
