Roses and...

Roses on Piney Branch

Snapped these pictures the other day whilst out walking about the neighborhood. The first three are various roses in the yards of three random, unknown homes--two on Piney Branch NW and one on 8th Street NW. The last photo of purple variegated flowers were in front of the home with red roses. I have no idea what they are--nasturtium perhaps?--but I thought they were pretty.

Peachy beauties also on Piney Branch.
Three little pugs came bounding off the porch to have a bark at me!

Little miniature roses on the edge of a yard that is,
sorry to say, an absolute eyesore.

I don't know what these are, but I thought they were pretty

By the way... Can you believe May is over already? What happened?!

Lara: Time just goes by so quickly as I get older. It's really disconcerting. But, I'm determined to enjoy June regardless of how quickly it passes! Hope you enjoy it, too!

Now THAT is a flower fix! But, where are the pugs???

Maya: I know! And me, a sucker for dogs, no less! I should have taken a picture of the pugs, but I was disconcerted by the fact that the homeowner was sitting on the porch and I didn't notice him until after I'd taken the picture. I was so embarrassed, I just moved right along.

Time does seem to flash by more and more. Good to see you stopped to, uh, smell the roses. 8^)

Those last ones look like something in the mallow family. There's a fairly hardy one called Rose of Sharon that might fit.

USElaine: If I'm not tip-toeing through the tulips, I'm taking time to smell the roses! :-) Thanks for the help with the last bunch of flowers. As I said, I have no clue what they are. Of course, I suppose I could watch for the homeowner to be outside and then ask, right? Hm.
