This is amazing an actual creek with running water. Beautiful park where is this one located?
Andrea: Rock Creek Park/Parkway starts just a little north of the Kennedy Center and the Watergate at Thompson's Boat Center and goes all the way up to Connecticut Avenue NW. From there, the road jogs a little to the right and continues northward as Beach Drive all the way up into Maryland, but the entire stretch from the Kennedy Center to the Maryland border is known as Rock Creek Park. This series was photographed on Beach Drive between Blagden Avenue and Aspen Street. It's a lovely park and a great way to get from the southern part of the city near the National Mall to the northern part without all the stop lights and stop signs of the surface streets. (I think there's two stop lights on the whole stretch and a handful of stop signs.) Beach Drive continues into Maryland and you can go all the way to the Mormon Temple on it. It's a pretty slick road to use and a very pretty drive! For those of us living on this side of town, it's a sanity saver!
Lucky you! Having this treasure in your city. Of course, there are many things of wonder there and this is just one. I hope someday, I can visit there. But, in the meantime I will visit via your blog :)
