East Potomac Park: Sailboat

Underway on the Potomac River

Sailing in the sunset...

I can't decide which of these two pictures I like best, though I love all the elements in the bottom one: the sailboat, the seagulls, the plane in the background landing at National Airport, the U.S. Air Force Memorial below the sun, the sunset itself... What do you think? Which do you like best?

#2 - I loves me some silhouette action.

And for me, I think it's the first one. I like the lighting on the feathery leaves on the tree, and I like seeing the illuminated far shore. Now, if you could have called in the birds too...

#2 for me as well. The colors stand out more against the silhouette!

All: Interesting. I like both of these for each of the reasons you all mention. I like the first one, because of the framing and the deep greens and blues. I like the second one for the silhouetting and for all the elements in it that are congruous.
