Blue Skies

Blue skies / Smiling at me / Nothing but blue skies / Do I see...
Irving Berlin, 1926

I took several of these a couple of weeks ago while I was out in the States visiting my parents and helping my dad with a construction project and a couple of these in Rock Creek Parkway on Wednesday while I was out enjoying the weather and some exercise. (Click on images to enlarge.)

Happy weekend, everyone!

These are the kinds of blue skies poppies dream of, definitely. Northern California will be waiting when you're ready to come back. Thanks for visiting Willits Daily.

B.C.: Ugh! Enough with the stormy weather, right? It's time for some nice weather where you are. Sending good thoughts for a warm and sunny weekend to Chicago.

US Elaine: I'm ready to come back now. Must find job... Must find job... Must find job...

Giselle: Nope, haven't joined Sky Watch, though I probably should. That could be fun.

Love that song! This must have been Irving's inspiration.

NG: I love Irving Berlin's stuff.

I love jet trails. Or are they contrails. Am I even close on that? Something to that sounding. On Mondays and Fridays here around mid-morning you can count 20 to 50 of them above Phoenix. They're fascinating. But them small things make me happy.

Awesome sky photos!! Nothing is prettier than prefectly blue skies.

We have been having gloomy weather lately. Cold and damp.

happy weekend to you too! hope the weather stays beautiful like that - with us it's lots of rain!

Lucy: I think it's both, but I think the official, technical term is contrails." Did you know that there's some question as to whether contrails affect the weather? The theory is, they are like a "seed" that creates clouds that become weather systems that produce storms. I think the jury is still out on the theory, but it's an interesting one.

Ming: Welcome! It's overcast here today, too and we're suppose to have thunderstorms tomorrow. Enough already! (Although, I really shouldn't complain about the fact that it's staying cool. In a few weeks, it's going to be sultry and hot and miserable. Then we'll really have something to complain about.)

Lara: See above! Still, despite the sort of gloomy weather, I think I might go out in a few minutes and do a little photography around town.
